What are major faults and blemishes of the legs and feet?

There are a variety of faults and blemishes on horses' feet and legs. Everyone would prefer a straight-legged horse, and any deviation would be considered a fault. Some of the more common ones are splayed footed, pigeon toes, over at the knees, and offset knees. Also splints on the cannon bone would be considered a blemish. Blemishes are generally thought to be something that has occurred such as a scar from a cut or injury. I would particularly examine the tendons that run down the back of the horse's leg for any abnormalities. Most of the problems tend to occur in the front limbs as compared to the hind limbs.
