We are not aware of a formalized score system for haircoat; however, some have used a ranking from 1 to 5 to subjectively evaluate haircoat condition for research purposes. An example of this subjective Likert scale evaluation could be as follows: 5 - extremely smooth, shiny and slick versus 1 - extremely coarse, dull and rough.
