Should horses with shoes on all feet be kept in a pasture with horses with no shoes, or should they be kept separate if possible?

The question you are asking might have several answers depending on what facilities you have available and the personalities of the horses involved. From a safety aspect, it is probably desirable to have horses with shoes on the hind feet separated from others (which would mean that each individual horse with hind shoes would have its own paddock), especially if they are dominant or aggressive individuals. Many people do not have enough space to do this, and in most instances, it may not be necessary; however, it is the safest route, especially if the hind shoes have anything on them such as trailers, studs, borium, etc.
