How I can get a copy of a pedigree for a horse I recently purchased?

Most breed registries provide registration papers with at least an abbreviated pedigree. Many of the breed registries can and will provide an extended pedigree for a fee. Additionally, there are persons associated with the various breeds who do pedigree searches, etc. They will typically advertise in the respective breed publications. We are making an assumption that you are certain she is registered with a recognized breed association and that you know what breed she is. If not, you may have some difficulty tracking down the information you desire.
