What boots or wraps to use on a jumping horse is determined by many variables. Environmental conditions are a concern both as to what protection and/or support they may need and as to how the conditions may affect what you are putting on their legs. Conformation, age, the severity of the workout and ground conditions are some other factors that would be of concern. If you are just doing light work, polo wraps might be quite sufficient; in fact, many jumpers will show in them.
There all types and brands of boots made from a variety of materials. Not all horses need boots/wraps, or at least not all the time. The first thing is to determine if the horse has a problem in that it hits itself somewhere (some type of interference such as brushing front or rear legs, etc.). Some horses may need only front or hind protection, and some may need both. Unless there is sufficient concern to warrant otherwise, we would start with good quality polo wraps and go from there if you need more protection or support, which is not likely unless you get more serious about jumping, or your horse has a specific problem.
