What is the current protocol regarding Coggins tests when transporting a horse both within the state and out of the state?

The answers to these questions are different from state to state. We suggest you locate the web address for the department of agriculture of the states in question to obtain accurate information. Most will have an animal industries division that will be able to provide you the specific requirements and consequences of traveling and Coggins tests. Most states require a Coggins test within the last 12 months. Additionally, out-of-state travel will normally require a health certificate usually within 30 days.
