Warts are caused by a virus. They are not pretty, but they are not detrimental to the horse. They usually occur in young horses, so that is why your yearling has them. They will fall off over time. They typically begin to fall off when one wart is knocked off by playing or rubbing. They will disappear and leave no cosmetic problems. Some people will cut them off, but until the virus has run its course, other warts will reappear. Most likely by the time the yearling is a two year old, the warts will be gone.
