Last Updated: November 25, 2011

Small, angular brown spots with yellow halos on bean leaves can be caused by halo blight, a bacterial disease caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola. Other bean bacterial blights have similar symptoms. Use disease-free seed for planting in the home garden and practice crop rotation.
