Several biological products are registered for white grub control in lawns, including milky spore disease (Japanese beetles only), Naturalis-T (a fungal disease of grubs), and several products that contain nematodes (microscopic worms) that attack grubs. In general, they have not performed consistently in University of Kentucky research trials. Inconsistent performance may be related to unfavorable environmental conditions, especially soils that are too dry for nematode survival.
If grub damage is recognized early, extra watering may allow the grass to get enough water with the remaining roots to survive and produce new roots.
