How do I remove bees from a tree in the middle of my garden without killing them?

This is rarely practical because bees in established colonies are very defensive and will attack if disturbed. Beekeepers generally are not interested in removing established swarms in trees because there is no good way to get them out. Also, the presence of bees or wasps in a tree indicates a cavity - a problem with the soundness of the tree that may need to be addressed. Contact your local Extension office for information about nuisance honeybees. You may want to read the following fact sheet: Controlling Nuisance Honeybees.
