A pole pruner allows the operator to prune tree limbs that are out of reach, and can reduce the amount of time you use a ladder. The tool consists of a set of shear blades and/or a pruning saw blade mounted on a fixed or telescoping extension pole. The shear blades are operated by a hinge attached to a pull rope that runs the length of the extension pole. With the interchangeable shear blades or saw blade, the operator can remove intermediate- to large-sized branches while standing on the ground.
