Growing fruit is a high maintenance endeavor. Production of high quality fruit requires an understanding of not only pesticides but the pests themselves.  Homeowners wanting to fruit crops organically have several resources available to them through the Cooperative Extension Service. For information on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) refer to IPM-9 - Kentucky Backyard Apple Integrated Pest Management Manual and ID-21 - Disease and Insect Control Programs for Homegrown Fruit in Kentucky Including Organic Alternatives.
