Any organic material can be composted; however, some materials are more desirable and easier to work with than others. Yard wastes such as leaves, grass clippings, straw, and nonwoody plant clippings produce high quality compost with relative ease.  Suggested Mixes by Weight

3 parts tree leaves : 1 part grass clippings
2 parts farm manure : 1 part straw
5 parts farm manure : 1 part newspaper

Particle size is critical; all materials should be 2 inches or less.
