How long does it take for a pawpaw tree to begin bearing fruit?

Starting from seed, a pawpaw tree normally will begin flowering and fruiting in 6-8 years, depending upon seed quality, suitability of the location, the care the tree receives, and its genetic makeup (precocity). A grafted tree can begin flowering 6 years after planting.
