Will fungal anthracnose kill my ash tree?

Anthracnose disease of trees is not fatal (except for dogwoods in some circumstances); however, severe defoliation from anthracnose year after year can seriously weaken trees. Weakened trees become more susceptible to environmental stresses and other diseases.
