How much water should I apply to a newly sodded lawn?

One of the most important steps for successful establishment of new sod is to avoid letting the sod dry out immediately. Irrigate new sod and surface soil to a depth of approximately 3-4 inches and keep the soil moist until a good union between the sod and soil surface has been achieved.
