How can I tell good sod from bad sod?

Last Updated: September 19, 2007

Quality sod is lightweight, does not tear apart easily, and has a well developed root system. If sod has mildew or yellowing of the leaves, its quality has already diminished. It is important to be prepared to install the sod shortly after it is delivered. Sod is perishable and should not remain stacked for more than 36 hours.
