Should I apply iron to my lawn?

Iron deficiency is primarily a problem in high pH soils. An application of iron, applied as a foliar spray, may improve the color of the turfgrass for a short period of time, but generally has no effect on the overall health of the turf. Iron applied to the soil usually has no effect on color, since the iron is quickly tied up in forms unavailable to the grass.
