Do I need to use a lawn fertilizer containing potassium?

Potassium is an essential nutrient for turfgrasses. The amount of fertilizer to apply can be best determined by a soil test. If your lawn is deficient, you can use a fertilizer containing only potassium, or one blended with a nitrogen source.

Contact your local Cooperative Extension office to learn about their soil testing service.
