Is bermudagrass a good choice for my Kentucky lawn?

Bermudagrass is generally not a good choice for a home lawn in zones 6 & 7. This grass will be dormant (brown) from October through late-April, does not mow well with a rotary mower, and will not grow in shaded areas. Bermudagrass also aggressively grows into flower beds, the neighbor's lawn, and onto sidewalks and other hardscapes. A turf-type tall fescue is well-adapted to zones 6 & 7 and is not susceptible to these problems.
