Generally, all kids should be vaccinated with CDT, a vaccine for tetanus and overeating disease.
Goat kids should be vaccinated with two separate doses, one at four weeks and the other at eight weeks and then followed up annually with a booster. This is the way to increase immunity against diseases and ensure the health of your animals. For the kids to have some immunity at birth, you want to vaccinate the does late in pregnancy (four to six weeks before kidding) so that they will produce antibodies that will be passed on to kids in the colostrum. For meat goat kids, it may be more convenient to vaccinate them one month before weaning and at weaning.
