Why should I use Bt corn hybrids?

Bt hybrids are suited to fields and areas were certain insect pests are likely to occur, such as corn rootworm in continuous corn fields.

When a Bt hybrid is used to target an insect, foliar pesticide spray is not needed for that insect. When spray is not used, there is less risk of potential off-target insect damage.

In some states, late plantings favor Bt hybrids resistant to corn borers since corn borers typically infest late plantings of corn.
