Bermudagrasses and zoysiagrasses are well adapted in west and middle Tennessee. Some winter-hardy varieties also perform well in east Tennessee. Several Bermudagrasses produce no seed and must be established from sprigs, plugs, or sod. Turf-type Bermudagrasses must be seeded. There are also examples of vegetatively and seeded zoysiagrasses. Contact your local Extension office for a list of the latest recommended varieties.
