My child is participating in the Horse and Pony project and is completing the horse enrollment form requiring pictures showing of all four feet and the face of the horse. Why must picures be submitted for these horses?

Horse identification is most easily accomplished by being able to visually determine one horse from another. Pictures are the most practical and simplest way to accomplish this. While we acknowledge that a vast majority of those participating are honest and ethical in their participation in the project, there are some who choose to circumvent the rules to gain an unfair advantage by switching animals. The required picture I.D. helps to contribute to a more "equitable playing field" for all those involved in the project.
