If I suspect that my calves have blackleg or lepto, would an antibiotic help rectify the situation?

The only way to know for sure what an animal has is to have your veterinarian diagnose the illness. If they do have blackleg or lepto, then antibiotics may prove useful with the veterinarian giving proper types as well as dosages.
