Cattle will appear irritated from the activity of the flies and may exhibit this by switching their tails as well as flicking their legs and heads. The presence of horn flies can be observed in the backs and bellies of the animals. Recommendations are that if you can count 200 flies on an animal, treatment with an insecticide will be economically beneficial.
