My neighbor and I are planning to establish a small apiary for home use. I've heard recently that skunks and even bears may destroy the hives. How can we prevent this from happening?

Electric fencing will deter bears or skunks. Elevating the hives (2 to 3 feet high) will often discourage skunks.
