The foliage on my cantaloupe has yellow spots with a downy growth underneath - what is the problem?

This is downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis), a fungal disease whose spores can be spread by the wind to healthy plants. Downy mildew can be controlled with resistant varieties and/or fungicide applications; contact your local Extension office for recommendations.
