How do you control gnats in houseplants?

These insects are fungus gnats, and it is necessary to eliminate conditions that promote gnat development. Reduce watering frequency and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Contact your local Cooperative Extension office to determine a list of recommended insecticides that can be used as a soil drench.
