Flameleaf sumac (Rhus lanceolata) can be propagated from seed or underground runner cuttings.

Prairie Flameleaf Sumac is a small tree that grows to around 30 feet, either as a single-trunked tree or suckering to form colonies. It is usually found on limestone or neutral soils, growing in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and New Mexico. It is extremely heat- and drought-tolerant, and its leaves are vivid red in the fall.

This tree is invasive and should be planted with care to prevent unwanted spread.
