What can you tell me about a peperomia plant?

These are tropical perennials that are commonly grown as house plants or container plants outside during the warm weather. They require protection from freezing temperatures or frost.

Peperomia, Emerald Ripple:

Scientific name: Peperomia caperata Description: Evergreen succulent plants with heart-shaped, dark green leaves. The leaves grow up to 1 1/2 inches long and have a corrugated surface. Leafstalks are red or pink; white flower spikes of varying lengths may be produced throughout summer and fall. Normal height is not above 10 inches. Light: Bright, sunless exposure. Variegated varieties like a few hours of sunshine every day. Temperature: Normal room temperature. Methods of propagation: Leaf and tip cuttings. Comment : Peperomias make nice accent plants for tables, bookshelves, etc.
