After soaking Moon Flower (Ipomoea alba) seed I saved from last year for 48 hours, they are still as hard as rocks. What am I doing wrong?

It may appear that the seed have not softened, but they probably have. Either go ahead and sow the seed or place them between moistened layers of paper towel. Then place them in a ziplock bag or similar plastic bag in a warm place. Check the seed frequently (once a day) for germination. When the roots emerge, carefully plant the Moon Flowers in a pot or directly where you want them to grow.
