I have property where the poison oak roots are as big as some trees. Any ideas for control?

Try cutting some of the poison oak plants (Toxicodendron diversilobum) off near the ground and paint the resulting fresh-cut stump with full strength brush killer. This should kill the roots. The only other sure way is to dig up the roots, and that isn't what you want to do. Contact your local Extension office for herbicide recommendations.
