My Salvia greggii have bloomed well for most of the winter. Should I cut off all those old blooms, and will it keep on blooming all summer? The deer don't eat most of the salvias.

Yes, give your Salvia greggii a haircut to remove the spent flower spikes. You can do this with pruning shears, a hedge trimmer, or with a string trimmer. The salvia are a good choice for people who suffer an overabundance of deer as deer usually leave these plants alone. However, when deer are hungry, they may eat almost anything.
