I transplanted a lemon tree from a large pot into my back yard. The plant is doing very well, with major growth and numerous lemons. When do I prune the tree and harvest the lemons?

The lemons will gradually turn yellow when they are mature. As the weather cools down, this will occur faster. Wait until next spring to prune the tree as the extra wood will help provide insulation from potential freeze damage. After the danger of frost has passed next spring, prune the tree as needed. They are best left as bushes because they are more tolerant of cold in this manner.
