You can contact a number of agencies to learn about financial support for child care expenses.

Many states have a state office of child care services or a division of family services. If possible, contact them and ask about sliding fee scales or scholarships for child care. Ask them for information on the Child Care Subsidiary program. Additionally, some families (based on income) can qualify for federally funded programs such as Early Start or Head Start.

Further information may also be found at your local chamber of commerce or department of social services. Local pediatricians often have information on child care with sliding fee scales as well.

Finally, contact your state's child care resource and referral system. It will have information on different child care options.
