If your personal safety or the public's safety threatened, leave the area immediately, call 9-1-1, and wait for help to arrive. Record any observations (such as vehicles leaving the scene, characteristics of unknown visitors, etc.) and be prepared to report them to the authorities.
Even if the situation appears less serious and you are uncertain, call and request assistance if it doesn't "feel" right. You can either call 9-1-1, or depending on the state, you can call your agricultural agency or appropriate public safety "clearinghouse" hotline. Many states have a "one-stop" phone number that citizens can call to report any type of unusual terrorist-related activity that could cause public harm. Agricultural producers, their families and employees should learn about the appropriate state agencies, and post important phone numbers near all phones.
