Have a question? Try asking one of our Experts

I purchased a Clematis integrifolia at a plant sale. It's supposed to have nodding, blue, bell-shaped flowers, but it has started to bloom, and the flowers look white to me and are not nodding. Will they change to blue and start to "nod," or was it marked incorrectly? It looks as if it could be a bush-type clematis.

Your clematis probably will not change color or begin to nod. There is a Clematis integrifolia 'Alba' that is white, and it is a bush clematis. It does nod, though. Your clematis might have been marked wrong at the growers. Unfortunately, mistakes do happen from time to time in the trade.
