We have large zucchini plants that develop flowers, but they bloom, close up and fall off, without producing fruit. Any suggestions?

Just be patient. The male flowers are predominant among the first flowers. Soon there will be more balance between the male and female flowers, and assuming you have bees present to pollinate the plants, the little zucchini will appear.
