What do I do with my rhubarb in the fall? Do I pull the foliage after it freezes or leave it until spring to clean it up?

Rhubarb stalks and leaves rapidly dry out and shrink to practically nothing after freezing, so they're very easy to rake up in the fall or in the spring. As with all plants in the garden, however, if there were any insect or disease problems during the growing season, fall cleanup and disposal of the infected plant material minimizes the possibility of pests or pathogens overwintering and reappearing the following year.
