There is a little hole in my front lawn and a tiny trail in the grass leading from it. Haven't dug into it to see if there's a tunnel under it. My guess is either moles or shrews. Shrews I don't mind. What to do?

"There is a little hole in my front lawn and a tiny trail in the grass leading from it." This is a pretty good description for meadow voles, or meadow mice (Mictrotus spp.). If the hole is larger (say, 2 inches in diameter), you may have a ground squirrel or chipmunk. When moles tunnel, they leave a track of raised sod.
