After your Amaryllis has flowered, cut off the flower stalk(s), give it a dilute solution of any flowering houseplant fertilizer to help it restore its spent energy, and keep it in your sunniest window. Now, while you are waiting for spring to arrive, read two online articles that tell how you can keep your Amaryllis alive and blooming beautifully for years to come. The amaryllis is not a one-time plant. Deb Brown has written Understanding Amaryllis and Amaryllis Culture in Forcing Bulbs for Indoor Beauty in Winter You can decide if your plant(s) will be indoor/outdoor/indoor plants or year-round indoor plants.
