Perennials, wildflowers, and shrubs planted near the sidewalk are dying from the salt applied to the roads and sidewalks over the winter. Are there any shrubs or perennials that are more tolerant to that?

Some perennials that will tolerate salt include: asters, black-eyed Susan, sedum, salvia, and yarrow for hot sunny sites. For shadier boulevards, try campanula, coral-bells, day lilies, and lady's mantle.
