What can be used on the arena to help reduce dust?

Commercial arenas use several different products to reduce dust. Wood shavings and ground rubber products will hold moisture and reduce dust, but the footing also changes and may not be suitable for all uses. Most coliseums use a salt form (calcium chloride or magnesium chloride) in their arenas to help hold moisture. Wetting the ground about once a week is necessary to maintain moisture. Grass is used in hunter/jumper arenas. Heavy traffic or grazing will make maintaining grass difficult. Bio-based products have been recently introduced into the market and have been effective in some cases. These bio-based products are developed to meet USDA requirements
