Is poison ivy dangerous to horses?

Although poison ivy is listed as a poisonous plant, none of the poisonous plant sites I've reviewed specifically show any toxic effects on horses. It might be an irritant to the horse's lips and gums if the horse were to eat it, but there is not much information documenting that potential effect. If you are interested in looking through some excellent poisonous plant sites, use the following link to the Cornell University Web site. The site also displays links to several other great pages.
