Having discussions about finances, money, and the loss of control are difficult. One way to approach this issue is to have family meetings so that everyone has a chance to present their opinions. Several meetings may have to occur before all the decisions are made. It will take awhile to get everyone on the same page. Another way to raise "sensitive" issues is to discuss difficult estate planning situations experienced by others and use this as a springboard to make family estate planning decisions.
