Some research shows that drinking green tea can help prevent cancer, but the research is controversial. You cannot depend on tea to protect against cancers.

Although drinking three to four cups per day has not been shown to be harmful for the general population, moderation is critical because too much tea may interact with other drugs you might be taking that affect blood clotting, such as aspirin.

Check with your health provider about whether drinking green tea is safe for you. Additionally, you should always talk to your health provider about any over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and minerals you choose to take.
