Can the young calf (0 to 2 weeks) absorb/utilize glucose as well as lactose? Would powdered glucose in the CMR (Commercial Milk Replacer) cause any harm?

Lactose in milk is digested to galactose and glucose (both 6 carbon sugars) absorbed by the calf. Do not feed table sugar or sucrose (enzymes to digest are not present). We don't recommending adding powdered glucose to milk or milk replacer as lactose (sugar) levels could cause scours.
