What is the lowest inclusion rate for an ingredient on a per head per day basis that can go into a TMR and still get a good mix?

There is no research that illustrates what the minimum level would be. Based on field experience, when the amount is under 1 to 2 pounds per cow per day, it may be questionable how uniformly the ingredient is getting distributed throughout the total mixed ration (TMR). Some factors that influence that number is the type of mixer, when that particular ingredient is going into the mixer. and the batch size.
