Is brown sugar as effective in helping a cow with ketosis as propylene glycol?

Brown or white sugar will provide energy for rumen microbes to make rumen VFA with higher levels of propionate (good). Propylene glycol is more effective as it is directly absorbed by the rumen wall and goes to the liver to be converted to blood glucose (key to prevent/control ketosis).
